The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of security engineering experience and an active US security clearance. They should be proficient in languages like Python and Go, with strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and infrastructure tools like Kubernetes. The role demands expertise in infrastructure security, application security, and modern adversary tactics.
As part of OpenAI's Security team, you'll be responsible for protecting the company's groundbreaking AI technology, people, and products. Responsibilities For Forward Deployed Security Engineer, Public Sector
- Deeply embed with strategic public sector customers to implement and maintain robust security controls
- Be a design and technical thought partner for protective controls including access controls, authentication, encryption, network, and system security
- Collaborate with teams, customers, and service providers to achieve security and compliance goals
- Ensure continuity of critical security and monitoring controls through assessments, threat monitoring, and validation exercises
Requirements For Forward Deployed Security Engineer, Public Sector
- An active US security clearance
- 5+ years of security engineering experience
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and infrastructure primitives
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, or similar
- Experience with security operations including insider threat monitoring
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern adversary tactics
