Software Engineer, Analytics Platform

The Research Platform Analytics team at OpenAI designs, builds, and operates critical foundational data and analytics infrastructure to enable research towards AGI. As a Software Engineer in the Analytics Platform team, you'll work on scaling Kubernetes services, debugging Kafka consumer lag, diagnosing distributed systems failures, and developing end-to-end data processing pipelines. You'll participate in architecture and engineering decisions, ensure data security and integrity, scale analytics platforms, and empower engineers and researchers with excellent data tooling. The role involves building stream and batch data processing pipelines, working with modern infrastructure management tools, and developing observability systems for ML training. You should be proficient in Python, comfortable with large monorepo codebases, and experienced in data lifecycle management. The team is responsible for the reliability of the systems they build, including an on-call rotation for critical incidents. OpenAI offers a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week and provides relocation assistance.
