Description For Software Engineer, Integrity Foundations

OpenAI is seeking a Software Engineer for their Integrity Foundations team within the Applied AI department. This role is crucial for maintaining the trustworthiness of OpenAI's platforms by developing robust defenses against adversarial behaviors. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional software engineering experience and be skilled in setting up production backend services and data pipelines.

The role involves developing systems to detect and prevent various forms of abuse, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and assisting with incident response. The engineer will work with technologies such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Azure, Python, Postgres, and Kafka. OpenAI values strong technical skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new tools.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Integrity Foundations

  • Develop and enhance systems to detect and prevent various forms of abuse including financial fraud, botting, and scripting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design solutions that protect against and mitigate adversarial attacks without compromising user experience
  • Assist with response to active incidents on the platform and build new tooling and infrastructure that address the fundamental problems

  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience setting up and maintaining production backend services and data pipelines

  • Own problems end-to-end, and willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done
