OpenAI is seeking a Solutions Engineer for their DACH region operations, joining their Technical Success team responsible for ensuring safe and effective deployment of ChatGPT and OpenAI API applications. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring a unique blend of skills in both areas.
The position involves working as a pre-sales solutions engineer, partnering with customers in the DACH region to maximize value from OpenAI's models through ChatGPT and the OpenAI API. You'll be interfacing with senior business stakeholders to understand their pre-sales needs, guide their AI strategy, and identify high-value use cases and applications.
As a Solutions Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional pre-sales customer experiences, demonstrating how OpenAI's solutions can meet business needs, creating technical documentation, and serving as a bridge between customers and internal teams. The role requires strong technical capabilities in programming (Python/JavaScript), REST APIs, and understanding of AI/ML solutions, combined with excellent communication skills and business acumen.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in technical pre-sales, managing C-level relationships with complex global organizations. Fluency in both German and English is essential, as is a thorough understanding of IT security principles and customer requirements for technical B2B SaaS products.

- Deliver pre-sales customer experience providing technical expertise and answering product, API, and LLM-related questions
- Build and present demos, scope use cases, recommend architecture patterns
- Create and maintain documentation, guides, and FAQs
- Gather and relay customer feedback
- Handle security and compliance questions
Requirements For Solutions Engineer - DACH
- 5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales role
- Full professional fluency in both German and English
- Understanding of IT security principles
- Experience with programming languages like Python or Javascript and REST APIs
- Experience with Generative AI/traditional ML solutions
- Effective presentation and communication skills
- Knowledge of network/cloud architecture
