OpenAI is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer for their Strategics segment to ensure the safe and effective deployment of ChatGPT and OpenAI API applications for developers and enterprises. As a Solutions Engineer, you'll partner with the largest companies to transform their business through AI solutions such as customer service, automated content generation, and novel applications using OpenAI's newest models.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering exceptional pre-sales customer experiences
- Demonstrating how OpenAI APIs and ChatGPT can meet customers' business needs
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Developing strong customer relationships
- Fostering customer advocacy and representing the voice of the customer internally
- Handling security and compliance questions
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years of experience in technical pre-sales roles
- Strong understanding of IT security principles
- Experience with programming languages like Python or Javascript
- Knowledge of Generative AI/ML solutions and cloud architecture
- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Deliver exceptional pre-sales customer experience for Strategics prospects and customers
- Demonstrate how OpenAI APIs and ChatGPT can meet customers' business needs
- Build and present demos, scope use cases, recommend architecture patterns
- Provide in-depth technical advisory
- Create and maintain documentation, guides, and FAQs
- Develop and nurture strong customer relationships
- Foster customer advocacy and represent the voice of the customer internally
- Handle security and compliance questions
- Explain standardized collateral and guide customers toward relevant resources
Requirements For Solutions Engineer, Strategics
- 7+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales role
- Experience managing C-level technical and business relationships with complex global organizations
- Thorough understanding of IT security principles and customer requirements for technical B2B SaaS products
- Experience in programming languages like Python or Javascript
- Knowledge of Generative AI/traditional ML solutions
- Understanding of network/cloud architecture
- Effective presentation and communication skills
- Ability to translate business and technical topics to all audiences, including senior leaders
- Problem-solving skills and willingness to acquire new knowledge
