Description For DevOps Engineer III

OpenGov is seeking a DevOps Engineer III to join their engineering team. In this role, you'll build best-in-class multi-tenant SaaS solutions for government agencies using modern technologies like GitHub Actions, Terraform, Kubernetes, Azure/AWS, ArgoCD, and Grafana. You'll be responsible for optimizing deployment processes, building and upgrading infrastructure, fine-tuning resource utilization, and ensuring proper monitoring and alerting. The ideal candidate is a natural self-starter with strong communication skills and a passion for good deployment design and solid cloud architecture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and maintaining a highly available and scalable multi-tenant SaaS environment in AWS
  • Implementing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform
  • Optimizing AWS services for cost-efficiency, performance, and reliability
  • Enforcing security policies and best practices
  • Building and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines
  • Setting up comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems
  • Providing mentorship to junior engineers

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud operations, security, and DevOps
  • 1+ years of running Kubernetes at scale in production on public clouds
  • Proficiency in a modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or Ruby)
  • Extensive experience with AWS services and infrastructure as code tools
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools and monitoring/logging systems
