Description For Solutions Engineer

As a Solutions Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the sales cycle, serving as a technical advisor to clients and helping them understand and implement OpenGov's cloud solutions.

The role combines technical expertise with customer-facing skills, requiring you to conduct product demonstrations, develop sales proposals, and work closely with cross-functional teams. You'll need 2+ years of experience as a Sales/Solution Engineer, with a background in cloud and SaaS technologies. Government or public sector experience is preferred, along with knowledge of ERP modules and financial systems.

Responsibilities For Solutions Engineer

  • Work with Sales, Professional Services and Customer Success teams
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations for OpenGov ERP solutions
  • Develop sales proposals and define solution fit for customer
  • Provide Technical Sales Support to MEDDIC Sales Strategy
  • Prepare and present product demonstrations
  • Build Technical Champions in sales process
  • Achieve OpenGov Technical Win
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend proof of concept opportunities
  • Provide input for technical sections of RFPs/RFQs
  • Develop reusable technical assets to support sales activities
  • Work cross functionally with Engineering, Product Management and Product Marketing teams

Requirements For Solutions Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a Sales / Solution Engineer
  • Experience with Cloud and SaaS technologies
  • 2+ years working in Government or Public Sector experience preferred
  • Accounting and Finance background strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of ERP modules
  • Up to 25% travel
