Description For Sr. Security Software Engineer

OpenGov is seeking a Sr. Security Software Engineer to join their Global Security team. This role involves working closely with product and engineering teams to build secure systems for agile security. The ideal candidate is passionate about enabling engineering teams to address product and enterprise risk while maintaining business velocity and scaling for growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and maintainable tools
  • Leading a Secure-by-Default program through automation
  • Advocating for and fostering a Security Champions program across engineering
  • Automating secure cloud operations and integrating security tools in SecDevOps pipelines
  • Proactively identifying and automating vulnerability management
  • Mentoring junior security software engineers

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or application security
  • Expertise in platform security, security architecture, secure code review, API security, and threat modeling
  • Experience with identity and access management, cyber security, and reverse engineering malware
  • Proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, C++, or C#
  • Experience with AWS cloud security, container technology, and CI/CD systems
