The Oracle Hardware Development (OHD) organization in Santa Clara, CA is looking for a Diagnostics Software intern to support the development of diagnostics applications for Oracle's Cloud servers. The intern will work alongside diagnostics engineers to define and build a lightweight, minimalist Linux distribution/environment to be part of the embedded server SW. They will conduct an investigation to identify the best suite of utilities (busybox, toybox, etc) based on factors like license and size, and will write a HW diagnostics utility to provide system information, such as BIOS, MB, CPU, memory, and onboard devices including PCIe training.
This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing Oracle's leading-edge servers, and enhance Linux knowledge including user-space utilities, filesystem management and boot process. The intern will learn about current diagnostics tools and become familiar with Oracle's software development process in developing a HW inventory and server health check utility.
