GenAI PhD Applied Scientist - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building the future of the cloud for Enterprises. The Generative AI Service team is delivering innovative services at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure. As a Machine Learning Engineer in this team, you will lead the effort of building distributed, scalable, high-performance AI model training and serving systems. You'll work on state-of-the-art systems with cutting-edge technologies, focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Multi-modality Models. Your role will be crucial in shaping the future of Generative AI at Oracle and delivering new AI-powered services for large-scale enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with product managers to translate business requirements into AI projects
• Coordinating with global teams to drive projects from research to production
• Developing new OCI services leveraging recent advances in generative AI and deep learning
• Designing and reviewing the architecture of generative AI systems
• Leading and mentoring both junior and senior machine learning engineers
• Developing production code and advocating for best practices
• Participating in project planning and review sessions

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Linguistics, or a related field with a focus on Machine Learning and Deep Learning. They should have experience in designing and implementing scalable AI models for production, deep technical understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning architectures, and practical experience with the latest technologies in LLM and generative AI.
