Oracle's Hardware Development Organization is seeking a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and Storage Subsystem (JBOD) Qualification Engineer to join their Storage team in Santa Clara, California. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge storage solutions for both cloud and on-premise applications.

The position involves close collaboration with suppliers throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial review to qualification, validation, and release. You'll be instrumental in developing product specifications, implementing test automation, and ensuring smooth transitions to manufacturing environments. Responsibilities For Hardware Developer 4

  • Work with Suppliers to develop and specify Oracle requirements
  • Conduct detailed concept and design reviews of HDDs and JBODs
  • Define and implement test and validation criteria
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental and EMC Requirements
  • Resolve technical issues with root cause and corrective action process
  • Support Operations Engineering with quality criteria
  • Communicate and participate in Program level management meetings

Requirements For Hardware Developer 4

Linux
  • BS Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of direct hands-on experience in related high-tech industry
  • Engineering experience with HDD or JBOD design
  • Knowledge of SAS, NVMe, SATA, SES, PCIe protocols
  • Understanding of HDD or JBOD validation tests process
  • Strong scripting experience in shell or python
