Description For Network Developer 2

Oracle is seeking a Network Developer 2 to join their Product Development team in Austin, TX. This role is crucial for supporting Oracle's global cloud computing infrastructure. The position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, plus 1 year of relevant experience.

As a Network Developer, you'll be responsible for supporting the design, deployment, and operations of Oracle's large-scale global cloud-computing environment. Your primary duties will include developing and supporting network fabric and systems, implementing network solutions, and executing network changes safely. You'll participate in network lifecycle management and operational rotations, providing critical break-fix support and root cause analysis when needed.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in networking protocols and technologies, including BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and MPLS. Experience with network vendors like Juniper, Cisco, Aruba, and Dell is essential, as is the ability to work with firewalls and switches. You'll also need to be proficient in diagnosing network alerts and prioritizing fault responses.

Linux

  • Experience with networking protocols including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL
  • Understanding of Internet peering and inter-domain networking
  • Experience with network technologies including Juniper, Cisco, Aruba and Dell, firewalls, and switches
  • Ability to diagnose network alerts and prioritize faults
