Description For Network Operations Engineer

We are seeking skilled and proactive engineers with 2-3 years of experience to join our Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) team. The GNOC is our front-line for addressing physical network issues and operates 24x7x365 to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our physical network infrastructure. The team is responsible for performing data collection, triage, technical analysis, incident mitigation, and redirection as necessary to maintain and optimize operations.

The role involves working with cutting-edge network technologies and infrastructure, requiring expertise in protocols like BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, and various networking equipment. You'll be part of a team ensuring maximum service availability and delivering premier customer service while supporting Oracle's vast cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Network Operations Engineer

  • Develop and safely complete network changes
  • Mentor, onboard and train junior engineers
  • Participate in operational rotations providing break-fix support
  • Provide on-call support services
  • Handle fault identification and escalation
  • Develop scripts to automate routine tasks
  • Lead technical projects and improve runbooks
  • Ensure maximum possible service availability and performance

Requirements For Network Operations Engineer

Python
Linux
  • 2-3 years of network-related experience
  • Proficient knowledge in PBGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS
  • Competent in Juniper, Cisco, Arista, InfiniBand, firewalls
  • Experience in GPU/RDMA network environments
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Incident Response plans
  • Willing to work in rotational shifts
