We are looking for a Database Engineer who can utilize their analytical and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets. They will develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges. The ideal candidate must have a bachelor's degree in computer science and a wide range of technical competencies.
The role requires strong database modeling and DML experience, with a proven ability to drive business results through data-based implementation and insights. The candidate must be comfortable working with various stakeholders and functional teams.
As a team member, the engineer will be responsible for researching and obtaining data relevant to customer success, as well as analyzing, designing, implementing, and testing software that drives estimates of customer success and continued renewal. This position is critical to Oracle's future success with SaaS customers, especially concerning renewals based on that success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement best-in-class software with Software Engineer Architects
- Perform database administration functions for Applications
- Analyze and performance tune test and production databases
- Monitor and analyze database activity to identify and prevent potential incidents
- Design database implementations and solutions that are performant, stable, and high-quality
- Implement ETLs and tools to extract and inject data into a data warehouse
- Develop algorithms to summarize and classify data into meaningful results
- Implement Database Functions, Procedures, and queries for clean data display
- Conduct automated and manual testing of implementations
- Research cloud software for best practices
- Write and present design ideas and proposals to the team
Required Skills and Experience:
- 9+ years of industry experience
- Strong experience with Oracle Database
- Excellent understanding of Oracle Functions, Procedures, and complex DB queries
- Experience with distributed systems involving data pull and push
- Familiarity with database tuning utilities and reports (e.g., AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQLT)
- Extensive experience with IDEs like SQL Developer
- Excellent understanding of Git
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ETL tools
- Knowledge of data science or machine learning techniques
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
