This role combines enterprise-scale security expertise with hands-on technical leadership. The position focuses on ensuring security and compliance of internal systems, conducting audits, and improving overall security posture. Responsibilities For Principal Security Engineer
- Develop and manage information security governance
- Establish and maintain robust security policies and procedures
- Build application security frameworks review process
- Design secure system architectures
- Evaluate and implement encryption at rest and in transit
- Build security patterns for hosting platforms
- Perform code reviews and security testing
- Monitor systems for security incidents and vulnerabilities
- Lead security projects and initiatives
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation
- Participate in internal and external audits
Requirements For Principal Security Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or technical security role
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, CISM, GIAC, or OCI/AWS/Azure Security Specialty
- Expertise in network security, cloud security, endpoint security, Operating systems
- Experience with firewalls, SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, EDR solutions
- Strong knowledge of cryptography, secure coding practices, zero-trust architecture
- Scripting experience with bash, python, perl, YAML or infrastructure as code tools
- Excellent communication skills
