Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Principal Technical Operations Engineer for their Sovereign Cloud team, focusing on government, classified, and sovereign cloud regions. This role combines deep technical expertise with administration skills to support Japan's governmental sovereign cloud environment. The position requires managing production environments, systems, and databases while providing escalation support for complex issues. The ideal candidate will have native Japanese language skills, strong Linux administration experience, and knowledge of modern cloud technologies. Working in a 24/7 support environment, you'll lead technical communications, mentor junior engineers, and ensure high availability of critical systems. Responsibilities For Principal Technical Operations Engineer
- Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production server hardware and software
- Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues
- Coordinate escalated support cases and lead technical resources to resolution
- Responsible for Oracle production environments
- Lead communications with key partners in Japan and overseas
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior members
- Provide support and administration on a 24/7 basis with rotation across day and night shifts
Requirements For Principal Technical Operations Engineer
- Japanese Language Skill: Native level, English: business level
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Linux System Administration, Networking, Storage, Compute, and Virtualization
- Understanding of and experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Chef and Puppet
- Experience participating in or running incident bridges of significant scale
- Customer focus, with a passion for delighting customers
- Experience in SRE, cloud technical support, cloud operations, NOC or similar
- Demonstrate ability to quickly learn new technical disciplines and then train others
