Senior Member of Technical Staff

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team provides opportunities to build and operate massive scale, integrated cloud services in a distributed, multi-tenant environment. The Security Products Group at OCI is building comprehensive product portfolios to protect customers' cloud environments with innovative approaches and hyperscale efficiency. They focus on customer isolation, data encryption, security controls, and visibility.

The ideal candidate will own software design and development for major components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure. They should be a strong coder and distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions.

Key challenges include improving reliability, performance, and keeping up in the cybersecurity space. The team needs engineers who can build services that reliably protect customer cloud environments, keep up with fast-paced security solutions, and enable more options for customers to contribute to Oracle Cloud's growth.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years distributed service engineering experience
• Experience driving feature design reviews, documentation, and UX reviews
• Strong development experience in Java, C++, C#, or similar OO languages
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems
• Familiarity with networking protocols and standard network architectures
• Understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, and distributed persistence technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing services on public cloud platforms
• Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines
• Expertise in threat modeling and security solutions
• Understanding of cryptography, DDoS, CVE, CIS, SAST, DAST, or similar security concepts
