Senior Optical Engineer - AI Infrastructure

Oracle is seeking a Senior Optical Engineer for their AI Infrastructure team. This role supports the design, deployment, and operations of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), a large-scale global cloud computing environment. The focus is on developing and supporting network fabric and systems, requiring a deep understanding of networking protocols and programming skills for automation in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on high-speed optical transceiver deployment and validation
• Perform testing and validation of optical transceivers and passive fiber components
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for performance evaluation
• Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations
• Stay updated on optical technology advancements and industry trends
• Support source selection and vendor due diligence

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
• 3-5+ years of experience in testing and validating optical components
• Strong understanding of optical communication principles
• Experience with high-speed electrical test equipment and methodologies
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and industry standards
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
