Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Site Reliability Developer to join their team in building and operating massive-scale cloud services. This role combines database engineering expertise with cloud infrastructure management, focusing on maintaining and improving Oracle's cloud database fleet. As a Staff-level position, you'll be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, and customer satisfaction while working on cutting-edge cloud technologies. The role offers competitive compensation ($97,500-$199,500) and comprehensive benefits, including healthcare, 401(k), and flexible vacation. This remote position requires 8+ years of experience in Oracle Database Engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and participation in on-call rotation. Responsibilities For Site Reliability Developer 4
- Provide activities related to the engineering and operational management of a massively scaled Oracle database fleet
- Project long-range requirements for database management and design
- Conduct quality control and auditing of databases
- Design, implement and maintain complex databases, access methods, security
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Work on automation, self-healing monitors and efforts to improve operational excellence
- Support all OCI software engineering teams
Requirements For Site Reliability Developer 4
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Eight or more years of experience in Oracle Database Engineering
- Deep understanding and expertise in database management features
- Knowledge of performing detailed performance analysis, tuning and diagnostics for Oracle 19c Databases
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Ability to work in an extremely fast paced and challenging environment
