As part of the Server Provisioning team within Oracle's Health and AI Information Technology organization, you will be responsible for the delivery of IT services to Oracle's hosting data centers. These services include the delivery, decommissioning, and redeployment of servers and other compute or storage devices. You will be aware of and utilize existing data center infrastructure including TCP/IP networking and Fibre Channel storage. The role requires the ability to physically rack and unrack equipment, move racks, and conform with facility policies such as data center safety, power constraints, and cooling efficiencies. You will assist and, with guidance from others, troubleshoot client problems according to established procedures. The work requires deep problem-solving skills, ability to comply with organizational and company policies, and keen understanding of IT in a datacenter environment.
As a System Engineer II, you will deliver, configure, and decommission Oracle OHAI internal compute infrastructure, related technologies, and equipment. You will be responsible for racking servers, installing operating systems, configuring Top of Rack switches, ordering SAN storage, running scripts, and troubleshooting any errors for the aforementioned. As a member of this team, you will also perform project work to decommission legacy systems to support the constant effort to keep clients on the greatest possible IT infrastructure. You will work directly with various teams to accomplish these tasks, whether they are internal to Provisioning, within the infrastructure organization, or with the requesting parties themselves.
This position requires residing in or around the Kansas City, MO area. The role may require lifting up to 50 lbs (e.g., server, network equipment) and willingness to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations.
