Description For Cryogenic Measurement Engineer

Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) is at the forefront of quantum computing innovation, developing cutting-edge quantum computers that promise to revolutionize various fields from drug modeling to battery technology. We're seeking a Cryogenic Measurement Engineer to join our dynamic team in a hybrid work environment.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary setting at the bleeding edge of quantum computing technology. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in testing and developing superconducting hardware, applying their expertise in cryogenic and RF measurement to advance quantum computing capabilities.

As a Cryogenic Measurement Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out testing on prototype components, advancing the development of cryogenic qubit control and measurement infrastructure, and driving hardware innovation. You'll work cross-functionally with Quantum Engineers to push technological boundaries and accelerate the deployment of quantum computing solutions.

Responsibilities For Cryogenic Measurement Engineer

  • Development and validation of cryogenic measurement infrastructure for quantum computing
  • Carrying out testing and producing high quality test reports
  • Design and develop new measurement setups and techniques for characterisation of prototype components
  • Coordination of prototyping, testing and reporting activities
  • Documentation of technical work and progress

Requirements For Cryogenic Measurement Engineer

Python
  • Practical experience with experimental design and measurement
  • Practical experience with radio frequency metrology
  • Familiarity with common DC and RF characterisation techniques and associated instrumentation
  • PhD (experimental) in physics, electrical or radio engineering focusing on quantum technology OR MSc with industry experience
  • Experience with cryogenics and dilution refrigerators (desired)
  • Python or similar coding skills (desired)
  • Electrical or thermal modelling skills (desired)
