Responsibilities For Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Position Systems
- Drive and develop innovative mechanical designs for complex, multi-degree of freedom positioning systems
- Lead the implementation of design changes and improvements across positioning systems
- Work closely with vendors and manufacturers to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
- Provide structural mechanical analysis on various systems
- Conduct design reviews and provide critical feedback
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate system-level designs
- Rapidly iterate on designs and prototypes
- Oversee creation of detailed design documentation and specifications
- Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
Requirements For Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Position Systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required (Master's or PhD is a plus)
- 10+ years work experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Advanced knowledge of CAD software - Creo preferred - with extensive experience in GD&T
- Experience in mechanical engineering analysis including Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Proven track record of designing multi-degree of freedom, precision systems
- Extensive knowledge of material properties and their impact on precision engineering
- Excellent leadership skills with ability to mentor junior engineers
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM
- Experience in hands-on engineering design and rapid iteration
