As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Pacific Fusion, you'll lead the design, development, and validation of mechanical components crucial to our advanced fusion energy systems. This role demands top-tier technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing innovative mechanical designs for complex engineering problems
  • Leading implementation of design changes and improvements
  • Collaborating with vendors and manufacturers
  • Providing structural mechanical analysis
  • Conducting design reviews and offering critical feedback
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Overseeing creation of detailed design documentation
  • Staying current with industry trends
  • Participating in risk assessments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's or PhD a plus)
  • 6+ years work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Advanced knowledge of CAD software (Creo or NX CAD)
  • Experience with FEA and/or CFD
  • Proven track record in developing successful mechanical designs
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Hands-on engineering design experience in a laboratory setting
