As our Senior Process Engineer for Fluid Systems, you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing sophisticated fluid flow systems essential to our fusion energy technology. This position combines technical expertise in fluid dynamics, system design, and process engineering with hands-on problem-solving in a cutting-edge laboratory environment.
You'll lead the development of large-scale fluid systems handling millions of gallons of dielectric oil and deionized water, design compressed air systems, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate complex system-level designs. The role requires strong technical capabilities in thermal analysis, FEA/CFD, and P&ID schematic software, along with practical experience in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities For Senior Process Engineer - Fluid Systems
- Develop large scale fluid system designs for transporting, storing, and reconditioning millions of gallons of dielectric oil and deionized water
- Design compressed air system of CDA meeting flow rate and air quality requirements
- Lead implementation of design changes and improvements across fluid systems
- Work with delivery team to ensure practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs
- Conduct design reviews and provide critical feedback
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for system-level designs integration
- Oversee creation of detailed design documentation and specifications
- Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
Requirements For Senior Process Engineer - Fluid Systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering
- 5+ years work experience as a Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineer
- Experience with sizing fluid process engineering equipment and developing schematics
- Strong proficiency in thermal and fluids analysis calculations
- Experience in FEA and/or CFD
- Advanced knowledge of P&ID schematic software
- Proven track record in fluid process system designs
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM
- Experience in hands-on engineering design and rapid iteration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
