Palantir Technologies is seeking an Application Security Engineer to join their team in Seattle, WA. This role is critical in ensuring the security of Palantir's products that support mission-critical work in defense, intelligence, and commercial applications.
As an Application Security Engineer, you will have wide-ranging impact on the security of Palantir's products and services. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing full-scope security reviews of current and future products, including whitebox, greybox, and blackbox assessments.
- Acting as a security subject matter expert for product architects and engineers, conducting threat modeling, risk assessments, and implementing security controls.
- Owning transformational security initiatives that impact the whole company, such as implementing software supply chain security controls or developing new security services.
- Identifying and analyzing vulnerabilities through various methods, including static and dynamic code analysis, security scanning, and investigation of security reports.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Development or software engineering experience with a deep passion for information security
- Experience with modern high-level programming languages (e.g., Java, Golang, Javascript, Python)
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate code for vulnerabilities and weaknesses
- Experience with complex architectures and codebases (e.g., SOA or micro-services)
- Familiarity with CodeQL or other static code analysis platforms
- Experience in black-box testing of web applications

The estimated salary range for this position is $135,000 - $200,000/year, with additional compensation potentially including Restricted Stock units and sign-on bonuses.

Responsibilities For Application Security Engineer
- Perform deep architecture and security reviews on highly complex products to identify vulnerabilities
- Lead engineering teams in feature design, threat modeling, and security-critical code and architecture
- Develop and implement automation to eliminate entire classes of weaknesses across the organization
- Drive decision-making by determining the tradeoffs between security and product design
- Lead implementation of strategic security initiatives that improve security across Palantir
Requirements For Application Security Engineer
