Description For Forward Deployed Software Engineer - US Government

Palantir builds the world's leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) at Palantir, you'll work on solving our customers' hardest problems, from high-level system design to application development and data integration. You'll leverage Palantir products, open source technologies, and custom-built solutions to drive real impact for customers around the globe. Projects range from detecting insider trading to improving disaster relief and fighting healthcare fraud. You'll work autonomously, learn new technologies, and grow both technically and professionally in a supportive community. This role requires an active US Security Clearance at or above the Top Secret level and the ability to work on-site in Colorado Springs, CO for 4-5 days per week.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing end-to-end solutions for customers' pain points
  • Developing technical solutions from prototyping to application development
  • Working with a variety of technologies, including Palantir products and open source tools
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers
  • Continuously learning and adapting to new challenges

The ideal candidate has:

  • Strong engineering background in fields like Computer Science, Mathematics, or Software Engineering
  • Experience with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Palantir offers competitive compensation, including a salary range of $135,000 - $200,000/year, plus potential Restricted Stock units and other incentives.
