Description For Product Reliability Engineer

Palantir Technologies is seeking a Product Reliability Engineer (PRE) to join their team in New York City. PREs are crucial in ensuring the stability and reliability of Palantir's products, which are used for data-driven decisions and operations across various industries.

As a PRE, you'll be responsible for maintaining 24/7 product availability, responding to and resolving issues, and driving improvements in product stability. You'll work closely with engineering and business teams to minimize deployment risks, create health metrics, develop automated alerts, fix bugs, and establish incident response strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of Palantir's products and processes
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on software development and deployment
  • Diagnosing and resolving field issues
  • Reducing operational overhead and leveraging data to identify reliability risks
  • Implementing proactive measures to prevent issues through telemetry and automation
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident response

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience with Java, Go, web technologies, and distributed computing systems (preferred)
