Senior Software Engineer - Observability

Palantir Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Observability team. This role offers an opportunity to directly impact Palantir's ability to scale engineering efforts through investments in observability platforms.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for Palantir's observability platform, including log/metric/trace ingestion and processing, monitoring and alerting solutions, and all other workflows on top of the observability data. You'll need a deep systems background and value technical excellence, consistently raising the bar for your team's technical execution.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with leadership to define technical strategy
• Building and championing long-term tech roadmaps
• Being technically involved in project implementations
• Working closely with teammates and stakeholders
• Facilitating partnerships between engineering teams and operators
• Acting as a multiplier for other engineers, providing mentorship and managing performance
• Fostering a non-hierarchical exchange of ideas

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years contributing to system design or architecture
• 1+ years as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or equivalent
• Experience with high-scale observability or infrastructure systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
