Paperpile is developing a new version of their mobile apps for iOS and Android, focusing on creating the best experience for researchers to collect, read and annotate scientific articles on mobile devices. The role involves working with React Native and developing native modules for advanced functions such as background file downloads, inter-app communication, and data sharing. A key responsibility includes integrating and extending the native PSPDFkit-based PDF viewer on both Android and iOS platforms. Responsibilities For Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS and Android)
- Develop native modules for advanced functions
- Integrate and extend PSPDFkit based PDF viewer
- Manage app lifecycle including CI/CD and app store submissions
- Write and integrate native modules with React Native
- Develop features for scientific article collection, reading, and annotation
Requirements For Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS and Android)
- Extensive experience with native development on iOS and Android using Swift/ObjectiveC and Java/Kotlin
- Manage the complete lifecycle of app (continuous integration, app store submissions, certificates, SDK updates)
- Experience with React Native apps (or willingness to learn) and writing/integrating native modules
- Ability to write clean, reusable, and testable code
- Can work and communicate within an agile team and produce production-ready code efficiently
