Description For Data Engineer

PayPal is seeking a Data Engineer to join their DAiS Data Storefront Service team. As a key member of the Operational Business Intelligence (OBI) organization, you'll work on creating the single source of truth for certified KPIs used across the company. The role involves working with global cross-functional teams to analyze, design, code, and test Data applications.

The OBI platform is crucial for PayPal's data-driven decision making, housing business rules and sourcing data from foundational/transactional databases. You'll be part of a team that helps curate data for specific business use cases and customers, enabling actionable insights from both transactional and behavioral data.

This position offers a balanced hybrid work model with 3 days in office and 2 days flexible between office or home. You'll be joining a company that has been revolutionizing commerce globally for more than 25 years, operating a two-sided network that connects hundreds of millions of merchants and consumers worldwide.

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, possess creative problem-solving skills, and have the ability to handle multiple deliverables simultaneously. Requirements For Data Engineer

  • 1+ years of experience in IT industry, preferably in Data Technology
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, Scala, and Spark
  • Strong SQL programming skills and experience with MPP systems
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
  • Working knowledge on Big Data, Streaming Integrations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, HBase and Hive preferred
  • Knowledge on Cloud platforms preferred
