PayPal is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Customer Support Platform team in Chennai, India. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, focusing on building state-of-the-art payment solutions and merchant experiences. Requirements For Staff Software Engineer

  • Strong programming skills and full stack engineering experience
  • 12+ years of experience as senior software developer with Java Backend expertise
  • 3+ years experience with Java, web & cloud design & development
  • BS or higher in Computer Science or similar (preferred)
  • Experience with REST APIs, Web Services, Unit Testing and build tools
  • Proficiency in Java tech stack (Node, Python, C++ is a plus)
  • Experience with Cloud based solutions and microservices
  • Rich System design and analysis skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Good problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Working Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs is a plus
