Application Security (AppSec) Engineer

PayPay Card Corporation, established in 2021, is revolutionizing FinTech services in Japan by providing more accessible and convenient credit solutions integrated with the PayPay payment platform, which serves over 66 million users. We're seeking an Application Security (AppSec) Engineer to join our Product Security team.

The role focuses on maintaining service security within the product division, working closely with development teams to implement security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. You'll be responsible for supporting teams through discovery, knowledge sharing, and automating security processes including configuration, testing, verification, and monitoring.

As an AppSec Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in:

• Collaborating with Security Champions to implement security best practices
• Conducting design reviews, code reviews, and manual security assessments
• Driving systemic improvements to software security through automation and process enhancement
• Performing threat modeling and maintaining automated security assessment systems
• Training and mentoring staff on security best practices

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of product security experience, strong project leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities. Technical expertise in languages like JavaScript/TypeScript, Kotlin, Scala, or Java is highly valued, along with experience in mobile application security and cloud-native applications.
