Description For Platform Engineer (DB Specialist)

PayPay Card is seeking a Platform Engineer specializing in databases at scale for mission-critical systems. The role involves database operations, including monitoring, configuration management, upgrade, scaling, backup, and data migration. You'll be responsible for improving operational quality and efficiency, troubleshooting stability and performance issues, contributing to documentation, and researching new tools in database ecosystems. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with databases, particularly Oracle or MySQL, and AWS. The position offers a flexible work environment with remote options and competitive benefits.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of DBA experience (3+ years with Oracle or MySQL)
  • 3+ years of AWS experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC - Terraform)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell)
  • English business proficiency

Responsibilities For Platform Engineer (DB Specialist)

  • Database operations, including monitoring, configuration management, upgrade, scaling, backup, and data migration
  • Iterate on database operations to improve quality and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot stability and performance problems
  • Contribute to documentation for communicating knowledge, experience and for effective decision-making
  • Research and test new tools in database ecosystems, and adopt them in PayPay Card

Requirements For Platform Engineer (DB Specialist)

  • More than 5 years of DBA experience with a minimum of 3 years ORACLE or MySQL experience
  • More than 3 years of AWS experience
  • Hands-on experience with Infra as Code (IaC - terraform)
  • Interested in new technologies and willing to improve operational quality and efficiency
  • Familiar with shell and programming language for scripting(Python, etc.)
  • English business proficiency
