Senior Backend Engineer

PayPay Card is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and rebuild rock-solid services with a focus on scalability and maintainability. Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, supporting implementation, and delivering large-scale, complex systems
• Managing team stakeholders and non-tech stakeholders
• Leveraging infrastructure to solve large-scale problems
• Acting as a gatekeeper for team quality standards
• Triaging, debugging, and resolving product issues
• Mentoring team members

The tech stack includes:

• Spring Boot with Java 11/17
• AWS services (ECS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch)
• GitHub, IntelliJ, Gradle
• Confluence, Miro, JIRA for documentation and project management

Required qualifications:

• Excellent skills in Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and distributed cache
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and OOP
• In-depth understanding of concurrency and distributed computing
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
• Degree in Computer Engineering/Science or 5+ years equivalent experience
• English business proficiency
