Description For Android Engineer

PayPay India is seeking an Android Engineer to work on their payment product, aiming to deliver the best payment experience for customers. The role involves working closely with the product team to customize the payment experience, prototyping new features, and redesigning existing ones. The focus is on UI/UX design principles and product-driven development within an elite team of app developers.

The team's mission is to grow the finance mobile service as the user's first touchpoint of PayPay, actively follow new technology to enhance app convenience, and rapidly build new features using various technical approaches such as native OS, KMM, and custom SDKs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the product team on payment experience customization
  • Prototyping new features and redesigning existing ones
  • Focusing on UI/UX design principles and product-driven development
  • Working with an elite team of app developers

The tech stack includes Kotlin, Simple Stack, RxJava, Koin, Picasso, CardIO, Moshi, Okhttp, Mapbox, Lottie, Github, Android Studio, Firebase, AppsFlyer, Figma, Slack, and Zoom.

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of modern mobile development
  • Strong skills in Object-Oriented design and Kotlin
  • Experience with Android development
  • Passion for code quality and willingness to write test cases
  • Familiarity with REST API integration
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • At least one showcasable mobile app
  • Minimum 3+ years of professional experience

Preferred qualifications include experience with CI/CD tools, unit testing, performance optimization, English communication skills, familiarity with Agile development, and experience in payment service integration.

PayPay, originally launched in Japan in 2018, has grown rapidly and is now expanding its development base to India.
