PayPay Securities, part of PayPay's financial ecosystem, has launched "Point Management" with over 10 million users and "PayPay Asset Management," the first initiative in Japan enabling asset management on a payment application. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll collaborate with engineers, designers, and QAs to build a new organization within PayPay Securities. You'll be involved in developing and operating the Backend Application system using PHP, Java, SpringBoot, and MySQL/AuroraDB. Responsibilities include designing large-scale systems, leveraging infrastructure for high-throughput applications, providing feedback via CodeReview, leading long-term improvements, and hiring and training backend engineers. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in backend application development, strong programming skills, and experience with NoSQL databases, distributed computing, and AWS services. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a pioneering team in mobile securities services during Japan's financial reformation era.
Responsibilities For Senior Backend Engineer
- Develop and operate the Backend Application system for PayPay Securities product
- Present issues and solutions to achieve the vision and goals of the organization and the product
- Design large scale systems with high complexity to support high throughput applications
- Understand how to leverage infrastructure for solving large scale problems
- Provide feedback to team members via CodeReview and KnowledgeSharing
- Plan and lead long-term improvements in the technical quality of the backend code base
- Develop tools and contribute to open source wherever possible
- Adopt problem solving as a way of life – always go to root cause
- Hire and train backend engineers
Requirements For Senior Backend Engineer
- 5+ years experience in developing Backend Application for company products
- Experience in using Java/PHP under professional environment, or excellent skills in generalized programming languages
- Experience with NoSQL databases and distributed cache
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms and object oriented programming
- In-depth understanding of concurrency and distributed computing
- Experience implementing platform components such as RESTful APIs, Pub/Sub Systems, Database Clients
- Experience with AWS services
- Experience in system design, development of web system which handles massive amount of transactions or requires scalability
- Experience with Microservices
- Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or 5+ years equivalent experience in SaaS platform development
- Business level in either English or Japanese (JLPT N1)
