The Corporate Engineering department at PayPay is responsible for in-house development of business systems supporting all areas of PayPay, including merchant, customer, and authority domains. With the mission "Contributing to the company's growth through technology", they drive development and operational efficiency at an overwhelming pace. The department includes various roles from IT strategy formulation to full-scratch app development and infrastructure engineering.
The role involves developing and operating APIs that assess risks within the PayPay app using SaaS services. Key responsibilities include:
Past projects include creating anti-social force determination API for eKYC, building systems to block transactions from suspicious users likely to be ATO (Account Takeover), and constructing judgment systems for blocking high-value payments and charges under specific conditions.
The development environment includes AWS, GCP, Scala, Python, Azkaban, Zeppelin, and Maquette (a proprietary SaaS product utilizing Kafka, Spark, and Cassandra).
