Description For Risk Management System Engineer

PayPay is a rapidly growing fintech company that has achieved over 65 million users in approximately 6 years since its launch in 2018. The company is seeking a Risk Management System Engineer to join their Corporate Engineering team, which is responsible for developing internal systems that support all areas of PayPay's operations.

The role focuses on developing and operating risk assessment APIs within the PayPay app, utilizing SaaS services. You'll be working on creating APIs that analyze request contents and transaction aggregation results to block risky transactions. The position involves coding in Scala, CQL, and Python, while managing the entire process from specification determination to development, testing, monitoring, and operations.

The Corporate Engineering department at PayPay is crucial in supporting the company's rapid service growth and organizational expansion through speedy updates to business flows and systems. The team consists of various professionals, from IT strategists to full-stack developers and infrastructure engineers, all working as one cohesive unit.

Key projects include creating eKYC anti-social force determination APIs, building detection systems for potentially compromised accounts, and implementing transaction blocking systems for high-value payments and suspicious activities. The team works with modern technologies including AWS, GCP, Scala, Python, and custom SaaS products utilizing Kafka, Spark, and Cassandra.

The ideal candidate will have experience in business process improvement, application development, and excellent communication skills in Japanese. Knowledge of fraud prevention in internet and financial services is a plus.
