Payplug, a leading French payment solution provider and part of the BPCE Group, is seeking a Lead Backend Developer to join their Merchant Care tribe. As a Lead Backend Developer, you'll be responsible for mentoring your squad while actively contributing to development work. The role involves managing production deployments, coordinating with other lead developers, and working closely with product management on technical design. You'll also collaborate with architecture teams to shape the technical vision of Payplug.
The ideal candidate brings 5 years of development experience, including successful tech lead experience, strong Python and/or Java skills, and deep knowledge of distributed systems and relational databases. Responsibilities For Lead Backend Developer
- Be the technical mentor of the squad, supporting developers in their projects while contributing to development
- Manage production deployments and monitoring autonomously
- Ensure alignment with other Lead Developers on ongoing projects
- Lead and actively participate in technical design in coordination with product management
- Coordinate with Architecture teams to implement architectural vision
- Enforce technical best practices including security, performance, code reviews, and peer programming
Requirements For Lead Backend Developer
- 5 years of experience as a developer with successful experience as tech lead
- Mastery of Python and/or JAVA
- Knowledge of distributed systems (e.g. microservices architecture)
- Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL or other)
- Demonstrates curiosity and ability to share knowledge with pedagogy and patience
