Our Ambition: We build our platform using the best available open-source technologies, making the most appropriate choice for each project. We are convinced of the benefits of a RESTful SOA architecture and operate in a microservice environment. Today, our stack notably includes Python, FastAPI, Flask, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Docker, AWS, as well as Java and PHP for backend parts and React for the frontend part.

As a Lead Backend Developer in our "Merchant Care" tribe, your responsibilities will include:

  • Being the technical mentor of the squad, supporting developers in their dev projects while individually contributing to development
  • Autonomously managing production deployments and monitoring in production
  • Ensuring alignment with other Lead Developers on ongoing projects and being proactive within the backend community
  • Driving and actively participating in technical design, in coordination with product management
  • Coordinating with Architecture teams to implement an architectural vision within Payplug, actively participating in technical choices for the squad
  • Enforcing Tech best practices, including security, performance, code reviews, and peer programming, and proposing improvements for operational efficiency gains

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience as a developer with successful experience as a tech lead
  • Mastery of Python
  • Knowledge of distributed systems (e.g., microservices architecture)
  • Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL or other)
  • Demonstrates great curiosity; shares knowledge and best practices with pedagogy and patience
