Responsibilities For Data Engineer
- Develop and maintain APIs, services, and orchestration systems for data fulfillment
- Integrate with 3rd party APIs and landing zones
- Design and maintain data systems and enhance data fulfillment platform
- Build streaming data pipelines
- Define, track, and meet SLOs
- Maintain and expand existing systems, tooling and infrastructure
Requirements For Data Engineer
- Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, distributed systems, algorithms and software design
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering
- Experience building distributed systems for large datasets
- Strong knowledge of Python and at least 1 compiled language like Java, Go, or Elixir
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or another Python web framework
- Experience with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar messaging systems
- Strong knowledge of tools like Airflow to orchestrate data pipelines
- Experience deploying and maintaining services on Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Experience with cloud data warehouse like BigQuery or Redshift
- Experience with major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Strong organization and collaboration skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
