Description For Release Engineer

As a Release Engineer at theScore team, you'll be integral to their DevOps and Release Engineering initiatives, working with cutting-edge platforms like ESPN BET, Hollywood Casino, and theScore Bet Sportsbook & Casino.

The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic process improvement, focusing on enhancing the software delivery lifecycle and regulatory controls. You'll split your time between Agile scrum for design and release engineering projects, while also managing production releases. Key responsibilities include implementing continuous deployment, managing infrastructure, and automating release processes.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about DevOps practices, with strong experience in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and container orchestration. You'll work with modern technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), while using programming languages like Go or Python.

Responsibilities For Release Engineer

  • Facilitate and execute production releases
  • Work on continuous deployment
  • Manage self-service on-demand infrastructure and clusters
  • Handle integrated change and release management
  • Codify release gates to evaluate readiness and risk
  • Identify areas for release process automation
  • Work with Engineers to ensure best practices around design, development, source code control, and issue tracking

Requirements For Release Engineer

  • Experience managing CI pipelines as code (GHA, CircleCI, Jenkins pipelines)
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm)
  • Experience working with Containerization (Docker & Kubernetes)
  • Experience with a programming language (Go/Python preferred)
  • Strong object oriented design skills
  • Experience in Linux
  • Experience with Agile practices (JIRA / Confluence)
  • Experience working with AWS, GCP, and/or on-premise
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or similar experience
