Description For Manufacturing Engineer Equipment Intern

Penumbra, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Equipment Intern to join their innovative healthcare company based in Roseville, CA. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work with a global leader in medical device manufacturing, focusing on developing novel products for challenging medical conditions.

The role involves hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, where you'll work directly with production and cross-departmental engineering teams to resolve equipment-related challenges on the production floor. You'll be involved in various aspects of manufacturing engineering, from equipment design and implementation to process optimization and validation.

As an intern, you'll gain valuable experience in:

  • Solving complex manufacturing problems and implementing innovative solutions
  • Participating in root cause analysis and developing vetted solutions
  • Working with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Developing and optimizing processes using statistical techniques
  • Contributing to equipment design and implementation projects
  • Conducting process validations and equipment qualifications

The ideal candidate should be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field. Strong proficiency in Computer Aided Design (Solidworks) and knowledge of fabrication techniques are preferred. The role requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineer Equipment Intern

  • Solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions
  • Participate in detailed root cause analysis and developing solutions
  • Communicate problems and solutions cross-functionally
  • Participate in production support activities
  • Assist with equipment/fixture design and implementation
  • Test processes, equipment, raw materials, and product
  • Perform process validations
  • Develop and optimize processes using statistical techniques
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling
  • Assist with training technicians on equipment and documentation

Requirements For Manufacturing Engineer Equipment Intern

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree program for Engineering, Physical Sciences or related technical field
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and other standard office tools
  • Strong proficiency in Computer Aided Design (Solidworks)
  • Knowledge of various fabrication techniques
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to work on site
