Penumbra, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to join their Operations team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is part of the Manufacturing Engineering group, which focuses on providing manufacturing technology and robust solutions for new product commercialization and continuous improvement in production.

The role involves interaction with various departments including Production, Engineering, Regulatory, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain.

As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you'll be responsible for solving complex problems, implementing innovative solutions, and executing detailed root cause analysis. You'll work in both office and cleanroom environments, coordinating cross-functional projects and ensuring adherence to quality management systems and FDA regulations.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Experience in medical device manufacturing is preferred. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $88,000 to $128,000, depending on location, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and generous paid time off.

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Engineer II, Operations

  • Solve complex problems and implement innovative solutions
  • Execute detailed root cause analysis and recommend vetted solutions
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination to implement changes
  • Coordinate project risk management
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external resources
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling
  • Adhere to Quality Management System (QMS) and regulations
  • Ensure department compliance with QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures

Requirements For Manufacturing Engineer II, Operations

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering or related degree
  • 1+ years relevant engineering experience
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other computer applications
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, Lean/Flow Manufacturing preferred
  • Engineering experience in manufacturing environment recommended, medical device industry preferred
