PepsiCo is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead their Enterprise Data Operations (EDO) team. This role is crucial in driving PepsiCo's digital evolution and transformation across global operations. The position involves overseeing data product build & operations while creating a strong vision for data engineering's impact on the business. You'll lead a team building data pipelines, managing the PepsiCo Data Lake, and enabling analytics and machine learning initiatives. The role combines technical leadership with team management, requiring expertise in cloud platforms, data engineering, and distributed systems. Working in a hybrid environment, you'll handle both on-premise and cloud systems, collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions. Responsibilities For Manager Data Engineering
- Provide leadership and management to a team of data engineers
- Act as a subject matter expert across different digital projects
- Manage and scale data pipelines from internal and external data sources
- Build and own automation and monitoring frameworks
- Implement best practices around systems integration, security, performance and data management
- Collaborate with internal clients to drive solutioning and POC discussions
- Define and manage SLA's for data products and processes
- Create documentation for learnings and knowledge transfer
Requirements For Manager Data Engineering
- Over 8 years of experience in technology, including 6+ years in software development, data engineering, and systems architecture
- Extensive expertise (6+ years) in Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing, and Analytics tools
- Skilled in SQL performance tuning and optimization, with hands-on programming in Python, PySpark, Scala
- 4+ years of cloud data engineering experience
- Advanced knowledge of Azure cloud services
- Proficient in data modeling, warehousing, and designing high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines
- Strong background in building and managing distributed systems
- Experience with version control (GitHub) and deployment/CI tools
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven track record of leading, mentoring, hiring and scaling data teams
