PepsiCo is seeking an R&D Platforms Manager to lead technical aspects of Extrusion and Pellets across European Business Units. This role involves managing a complex agenda, leading a team of project managers and technologists, and working in a highly matrixed environment. The position requires strategic thinking in developing technical roadmaps, close collaboration with multiple stakeholders including Marketing, Supply Chain, and Global Platform teams. The ideal candidate will have 7-9 years of management experience in FMCG, strong technical expertise, and the ability to drive innovation while balancing commercial needs. This role offers the opportunity to work with a global leader in the food and beverage industry, contributing to both immediate and long-term strategic initiatives while advancing PepsiCo's Pep+ agenda. The position demands strong leadership skills, technical acumen, and the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
Responsibilities For R&D Platforms Manager
- Set the agenda for Extrusion and Pellets strategy and build programs
- Manage priorities within direct team and across multiple commercial stakeholders
- Lead technical roadmaps across 5 year horizon
- Take accountability of identifying technical solutions for BU and category level activities
- Monitor R&D expenditure
- Line management – coaching, development, and performance reviews
- Leverage expertise inside and outside the organization to deliver against commercial plans
Requirements For R&D Platforms Manager
- First Degree or equivalent in Science or Engineering related discipline
- 7-9 years previous management experience in FMCG environment
- Established competence at product development and technical commercialization
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data
- Strong networking and relationship building skills
- Understanding of manufacturing relating to PepsiCo products and processes
- Self-starter with ability to manage competing priorities
