Description For Shift Technician/Multi Skilled Engineer

PepsiCo is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer (Shift Technician) for their Skelmersdale manufacturing site, a key facility in the Walkers portfolio producing popular snacks like Snack-a-Jacks and Monster Munch. This role involves providing crucial engineering technical support to manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal plant reliability and performance through effective asset maintenance and continuous improvement programs.

The position operates on a continental shift pattern (3/2) with 12-hour rotational shifts between days (06:00-18:00) and nights (18:00-6:00), averaging 42 hours per week. The role offers a competitive salary of £55,371.40 per annum (including shift allowance), along with attractive benefits including quarterly bonuses, pension scheme, and various wellness perks.

Responsibilities For Shift Technician/Multi Skilled Engineer

  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance using Electrical, Control System and Mechanical Engineering skill set
  • Support site Reliability agenda through failure modes identification and root cause analysis
  • Proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activity
  • Support and coaching of Manufacturing Technician groups
  • Support site Project and Change Initiatives
  • Contractor Control through issuing Permit to Works and reviewing risk assessments

Requirements For Shift Technician/Multi Skilled Engineer

Linux
  • Indentured time served apprentice with Electrical bias holding 18th edition certification
  • City & Guilds 2391 holder
  • Understanding of SCADA control systems, computer systems, networking
  • PLC experience (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens preferred)
  • Experience of leading and coaching a team
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent influencing, presentation, communication and decision making skills
