Perchwell, backed by Lux Capital and Founders Fund, is revolutionizing the real estate industry with its modern data and workflow platform. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of building and scaling the company's data infrastructure, working from their SoHo NYC office 3 days/week.

The role involves creating robust data pipelines that handle millions of property listings, architecting automated governance systems, and leading the evolution of data infrastructure to support nationwide MLS onboarding. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Data Insights, Product, and Design to build best-in-class solutions for managing and analyzing real estate listing data.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team as a foundational member, where you'll help shape the standards, culture, and values of the data engineering team. The position offers competitive compensation ($160K-$200K base salary), equity, and benefits.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of data engineering expertise, with deep experience in Python, SQL, or Kotlin. You should have a proven track record with data pipelines, workflow orchestration, cloud architecture (AWS), and data warehouses. Your technical expertise should be matched by exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities For Senior Data Engineer

  • Create and scale data pipelines integrating millions of property listings and market insights
  • Architect automated governance systems for data quality and observability
  • Lead evolution of data infrastructure to support rapid MLS onboarding
  • Partner with Data Analytics team to transform property data into actionable insights

Requirements For Senior Data Engineer

Python
Kotlin
  • 4+ years of hands-on data engineering expertise with Python, SQL, or Kotlin
  • Experience with architecting and deploying resilient data pipelines
  • Mastery of workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
  • Experience with AWS cloud architecture (S3, SQS, RDS, EMR, Glue, Athena, Lambda)
  • Experience with data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, ClickHouse or Google BigQuery)
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub actions, Terraform, or Jenkins
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and cloud data lake solutions
  • Exceptional communication skills
