Perforce Software, a leading provider of DevOps solutions trusted by over 75% of Fortune 100 companies, is seeking a Data Center Engineer to join their team in Lowell, MA. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a global environment spanning 80+ countries.

The position involves managing and maintaining 24x7 production environments, focusing on hardware deployment and maintenance for cloud-based services. As a Data Center Engineer, you'll be responsible for physical infrastructure setup, operating system configurations, and ensuring high availability of production services. You'll work closely with R&D and Customer Support teams to implement product changes and maintain service quality.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with strong technical skills in Windows, MacOS, and Linux environments. Knowledge of networking, scripting, and experience with managed services is highly valued. The role requires both technical expertise and physical capabilities for handling server installations.

Responsibilities For Data Center Engineer

  • Management and Maintenance of 24x7 production operational environment
  • Physical installation of server rack infrastructure and mobile devices
  • Troubleshooting server configuration, network and Mobile device issues
  • Drive new deployments of customer mobile device and web solutions
  • Perform device and Operating System upgrades
  • Maintain inventory database
  • Create and maintain procedures and technical documentation
  • Interface with internal support teams
  • Remote on-boarding of new systems and devices
  • Promote professional management of data center cabling and assets
  • Use Salesforce & Jira ticketing systems for issue tracking

Requirements For Data Center Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of Windows, MacOS and Linux
  • Basic networking and scripting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform server rack installations
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours
  • Willing to travel occasionally to US and international data centers
