Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their team in Saskatoon. The company specializes in mining, energy, and heavy industrial sectors, offering diverse project opportunities and professional development. The role involves acting as an owner's representative for structural engineering project requirements, supporting capital, wellfield, and management of change projects.

The position offers a unique 9/80 work schedule (Monday-Thursday one week, Monday-Friday the next week), with working hours from 7am-4pm (7am-3pm on short week Thursdays). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project scope, engineering design, vendor coordination, and package management.

As a Structural Engineer, you'll be integral in maintaining structural integrity across projects, writing technical scopes, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines. The role requires a Professional Engineer designation and a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities For Structural Engineer - PL#61231

  • Write technical scopes of work and create work packages for structural deficiencies
  • Design engineered repair plans for small scale structural deficiencies
  • Conduct structural inspections, review and report findings
  • Provide support to teams for structural integrity related matters
  • Ensure structural designs and installations meet codes & standards
  • Maintain compliance with Corporate Structural Integrity Guidance Documents

Requirements For Structural Engineer - PL#61231

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer designation is mandatory
  • Strong safety commitment and safety leadership
  • Ability to effectively communicate, written and oral, with various stakeholders
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Detail oriented with ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with Computer Aided Structural Analysis & Design software (Staad Pro or SAP2000)
  • Experience with 3D Modeling and Design Software (asset)
  • Previous experience in potash mine or oil & gas or industrial setting (asset)
