PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm specializing in the engineering and design of overhead & underground transmission/distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations. Our expertise allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.
Phasor is currently seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join our Substations team in our Calgary office. Reporting to the Project Management Office, the Project Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the project, including project planning, execution, communication, risk management, budgeting, and scheduling. The candidate will manage projects from start to finish and ensure timely execution, coordination with various teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project team members.
- Coordination: Coordinate with various teams, including design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Quality Control: Ensure project adherence to quality standards and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
- Problem-solving: Identify and resolve technical issues during the project.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Project Engineer.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience in Canada, related to Transmission, Distribution or Substation Engineering.
- Professional Engineer registration or eligible for EIT registration.
- PMP certification or willingness to obtain within one year.
- Strong teamwork, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Must be able to travel to project sites and maintain a valid class 5 driver's license.
